Questions

Is the Shalom App free?
Yes. The Weekly Torah Portion app is free to download and use on both iPhone and Android.
Is there an iOS / iPhone version?
Yes. The Shalom App is available for iPhone on the Apple App Store and for Android on Google Play.
What is the weekly Torah portion (parsha)?
Each week, communities read a set passage of the Torah — the parsha. Over a year, the 54 portions complete the entire Torah, then begin again.
Which Bible translation is included?
The Tanakh defaults to the JPS Tanakh from Sefaria, and the B’rit Hadashah (New Covenant) defaults to Bible.com. Translations are fully customizable—choose the version you prefer to read.
Does the app include the scripture text?
The app gives you the full scripture references for each portion and links straight out to read them — Sefaria for the Hebrew Tanakh, Bible.com for the English. If you have those apps installed, it opens right to the passage. Embedding the full text in-app is on the roadmap, pending licensing.
Do I need an account to use the app?
No! The Weekly Torah Portion app works with no sign-up and no account. Open it and start reading.
